Bread and butter pudding is an easy to make old-fashioned English family pudding. The dish is quite simple and requires minimal cooking time. Ideal for your Sunday breakfast, this delicacy is definitely worth giving a shot.  

Ingredients
250ml double cream, 65 ml milk, 50g castor sugar, 3-4 saffron strands, 3 eggs, a little butter for greasing, 6 slices white bread (buttered and sliced into 4 triangles), 50g ready-to-eat dried papaya finely chopped (You can also try dried apricots or mangoes instead), 25g pistachio nuts, crushed

How to make
Preheat the oven to 180 degree C, Mix cream with the milk and add sugar saffron strands, Whisk the eggs and add them to the cream mixture, Butter a deep ovenproof dish (15cm x 22cm/6in x 9in), Put a layer of bread into it and sprinkle over some dried papaya, Add another layer of bread with some more nuts and papaya. Pour the cream mixture over the bread and put the dish into the oven, Leave it for 30-35 minutes until the surface turns rich golden brown.
Serve immediately.

Cook time: 30-35 minutes
