It goes without saying that our health is contingent on the type of food we consume. As such, different foods are associated with different benefits, some of them harmful in many a way as well. Here are 7 foods that make you look older.

Vegetable oil

Extremely processed oils - such as vegetable oil, canola oil and soybean oil - damage your cell membranes. In short, if you consume these oils on a regular basis, you will age faster and be at a much greater risk for heart disease. Instead, choose coconut oil or olive oil.

Sugar
The trouble with sugar is that it's everywhere it's in ketchup, soft drinks (even those labeled "green tea"), cereals, sweets, and salad dressings. It's easy to consumer too much sugar and too much sugar can make you look old.

Alcohol
A healthy liver means healthy skin. "When your liver is functioning well, toxins that could potentially affect the skin are expelled naturally through your body," says Dr. Ostad. "But if toxins build up in your liver, and aren't broken down properly, your skin can develop a variety of issues, like acne, sallowness, and wrinkles."

Fast foods

Most fast foods are high in salt and saturated fats. Fast foods including burgers and fries are amongst the most unhealthy foods and make you look older. Fast foods are foods that speed up ageing in people.
