Global terrorism index systematically ranks countries of the world most affected by terrorism. This year Iraq ranked first with a score of 9.96/10 points. Iraq, Afghanistan, Nigeria, Pakistan and Syria accounted for 72 per cent of all deaths from terrorism in 2015. ISIL becomes the deadliest terrorist group in 2015 surpassing Boko Haram. Iraq suffers highest economic impact from terrorism. 17 per cent of its GDP got affected in 2016. The contribution of tourism to GDP is double compared to countries with no terrorist attacks. ISIL attacked a total of 28 countries in 2015 which is more than double as they did in 2014 (13 countries). The countries ranked highest in the Global Terrorism Index, based on the number of incidents, deaths and injuries and the amount of property damage in 2016 are as follows:
