Narasimha... Half lion Half man
The asura king Hiranyakasyipu had a boon from Brahma that he would not die either on earth or in space, nor in fire nor in water, neither during day nor at night, neither inside nor outside, nor by a human, animal or God, neither by inanimate nor by animate being that made him almost indestructible. Hence, to kill Hiranyakasyipu, Lord Vishnu took the form of Narasimha (half lion half man) to make the boon ineffective. He killed the demon king at twilight on the doorsteps of his palace with his nails by placing him on his lap.
