Sutlej River- sink in Himachal Pradesh envelopes an area of about 6,553 square kilometers.
Satluj River commences from the Mansarovar Lake, at 18500ft in Tibetan Plateau. Out of three Trans Himalayan rivers arising in the high Tibetan Plateau, it cuts across the impressive Himalayan ranges.

Satlej River sequentially crosses three great mountain ranges-the Zanskar range, the Great Himalayan range and the Dhauladhar range.

While rafting, if you go towards east of the Satlej, there are slender valleys, while in the west, valleys are quite open and broad.
