Diabetes is a serious, yet common medical condition. If you have diabetes, you need to manage your blood sugars and regularly monitor them to be sure they are within their target range. There are a few types of diabetes, though the main two types are type 1 and type 2 diabetes. They differ based on what causes them.

Diabetes has a way of creeping up on you, with most people showing no symptoms at all. The few who do, almost never recognise them as red flags. Uncontrolled diabetes is an invitation for several complications, involving almost every part of the body. The initial signs are usually so generalised that even doctors tend to miss them. Among the common early signs of diabetes are:

Chronic fatigue

Diabetic patients cannot produce enough insulin absorb glucose from the blood. This starves the body of energy leaving them feeling fatigued and lethargic.

Tingling or burning sensation in the feet

Foot problems are common among diabetics due to poor blood circulation. One of the early signs of foot problems is mild numbness and tingling sensation in the feet. Without proper attention, something as trivial as a minor cut can result in foot ulcers, which are susceptible to infection, as a result of peripheral neuropathy.
