And while 37 per cent of students are concerned about doing well in their subjects, one in six fret about fitting in with the cool kids at school. Other worries include no-one fancying them, looking the part for parties and nights out, and a fifth of teenagers 'just want to be normal'.

Despite being hard to communicate with sometimes, six in 10 teenagers still tend to confide in mum and dad when something is really troubling them.
