Gone are the days when the Thar would have nothing to boast about inside the cabin. The new Thar has a plush cabin with some contemporary bells and whistles to attract even the regular buyers, let alone the enthusiasts. The front seats are height adjustable. Mahindra and Mahindra claims that it has used premium fabric upholstery in the second-generation Thar. There is a new 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The instrument cluster is all-new and gets a TFT display. The multi-function steering wheel has controls for voice, audio and cruise functions. There are even roof-mounted speakers in the Thar now.

Mahindra and Mahindra has added some top-notch safety features in the new Thar. Apart from the standard fitments like dual airbags, ABS, central locking, rear parking assist, the second-generation Thar also gets tyretronics and tyre direction monitoring system, electronic stability programme, electronic power steering, and hill hold and hill descent control.

The second-generation Mahindra Thar comes in two trims - AX series and LX series. The Thar AX series gets a fixed soft top with an option for a convertible top or hard top and a 6-seater arrangement. In the LX series, the customers can choose between a convertible top or a hard top, with the seating arrangement for four individuals only.

Coming to the colour options available with the new Mahindra Thar, the SUV gets six - Red Rage, Mystic Copper, Galaxy Grey, Napoli Black, Rocky Beige and Aquamarine.
