Effective ways to create a professional resume
A CV is the most flexible and convenient way to make applications. It conveys your personal details in the way that presents you in the best possible light. Your resume is your first impression on your prospective employer and you want it to leave its mark. Many resort to lying in their resume which can prove to be fatal for your job search. Your short term objective of landing the job might be achieved by lying, but it can have adverse long term consequences to your career. You should never lie in your resume, find out why.
Employers find out
Many people put details in their resume assuming that nobody will bother to cross check. Well, that is not true. Technology has made accessibility to data easier than ever. It does not take more than five minutes to find out about a candidate. Employers usually tend to visit your LinkedIn profile before they call you for an interview and reference checks after the interview process. If your hiring manager finds out about the exaggeration, there is not a chance of you getting that job.
You may have the Job but not the Skills
You may somehow get lucky and manage to pull off the lie if the employer believes you and does not do a background check. You may even land the job, but how long are you going to be able to secure that job. When employers make the decision of hiring you, it is on the basis that your resume is an authentic portrayal of everything you have done in the past and the skills you have achieved in the process. If you are lacking those skills, you are not the perfect match for that job and hence useless to the organization and its goals. You may think that you will learn with time but your superiors will soon realize those flaws and fire you.
