Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli name their daughter Vamika, know the meaning
Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma and cricketer Virat Kohli have revealed the name of their first child. The couple has named their daughter Vamika. The duo was blessed with a baby girl earlier this month on January 11, 2021. Anushka Sharma shared a heartfelt post on Instagram, wherein she revealed that she and her husband Virat Kohli have named their first-born Vamika. "We have lived together with love, presence and gratitude as a way of life but this little one, Vamika has taken it to a whole new level !" the actor wrote, along with a sweet picture of the family of three, wherein we are only given a glimpse of the baby's head.
"Tears, laughter, worry, bliss - emotions that have been experienced in a span of minutes sometimes! Sleep is elusive, but our hearts are SO full," the new mother further wrote, while thanking everyone for their "wishes, prayers, and good energy".
Vamika is another name for Goddess Durga. A report in The Times of India also mentions her to be the female half of the Ardhanarishvara- a composite form of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. As Ardhanarishvara, Shiva forms the right side of the body and Parvati forms the left side. Together, they symbolise a world in perfect harmony with its masculine and feminine energies.
